Bears come up short, lose to Washington 79-75 in Pac-10 Tourney Championship

California took care of business and defeated Oregon and UCLA, but yesterday the Bears came up just a bit short against Washington as they fell 79-75 to the Huskies in the Pac-10 Tournament Championship game. Jerome Randle struggled all day, and we were really carried by Theo Robertson (25 points) and Jamal Boykin (20 points, 14 rebounds) as the seniors wanted to make sure we brought home 2 championship trophies. The Bears struggled offensively when Randle couldn't get going, but the real downfall was our poor defense; it's tough to win when your leading scorer isn't hitting and you give up 79 points. Qunicy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas led the charge for Washington, and the Huskies were able to hold on as they finally played up to their pre-season hype and made sure that they were dancing come Selection Sunday. The Bears are Pac-10 regular season champs, so I feel confident that we'll be OK come Sunday as well...I hope.
