Chubba Purdy, the former Nebraska quarterback who is the brother of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, is headed to the Bay Area. On Sunday, Chubba announced that he is transferring to San Jose State to continue his collegiate football career.

Chubba spent the past two seasons with the Cornhuskers (2022–23). Before that, he played two seasons at Florida State (2020–21).

According to Sports Reference, Chubba completed 50.5 percent of his passes for 529 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions in 12 game appearances during his two seasons at Nebraska. Overall, he has a career completion rate of 52.1 percent, amassing 846 yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions.
It appears that Chubba was motivated to be near his brother. He had previously mentioned receiving an offer from the University of California, Berkeley.
