Bengals Injury Report: Charlie Jones at least a week away from returning
© Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports

Injuries have fortunately not been a huge factor for the Cincinnati Bengals as of late, though there are a few the team will continue to monitor as the midseason point of 2023 has arrived.

Rookie wide receiver/punt returner Charlie Jones is now eligible to return off the Reserve/Injured list, but head coach Zac Taylor told media members Jones will stay on I.R. for this week. Taylor also mentioned Jones may come off the list next week.

Jones and fellow rookie Chase Brown are the two players on I.R. with a chance to play again this year. Brown, who suffered a hamstring injury last week during practice, has a few more weeks until he's even eligible to come back. Jones should be back next week or the week after.

Linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither has missed just as much time as Jones but has not been on I.R. The fourth-year linebacker finally made his return to the practice field for Wednesday's session.

Davis-Gaither injured his knee against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3 and has been out and rehabbing ever since. Cincinnati currently has six linebackers on the active roster, though Germaine Pratt and Logan Wilson are the only players with significant snap counts this year. Davis-Gaither has the third most defensive snaps with 14 despite missing four contests.

Not practicing today is edge defender Trey Hendrickson, who played through an ankle injury last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. It very well could be a rest day for the two-time Pro Bowler.

We'll post the full injury report when it becomes available later today...
