Liverpool chairman Werner singles out one Cup winner for praise

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner saluted the team as they won the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

The Reds were victorious at Wembley against Chelsea, winning in extra time through a Virgil Van Dijk header.

After the 1-0 success, chairman Werner spoke about his joy at seeing the players lift another trophy.

We're enjoying today," he told talkSPORT.

The Liverpool chairman then added: Just the resilience, the commitment in all of those players who wouldn't normally be in the first-team.

And how about (goalkeeper Caoimhin) Kelleher? Brilliant.

Of course (I'm proud). And with the injuries that this club has had, they are fighting and it has been a terrific day."
